The latest Transformers movie, Bumbleebee, is a nostalgic cinematic flashback to the past: the Eighties! This version of the new Transformers movie plays homage to the classic designs and styles of the original Transformers characters popularized in the original 1984 cartoon series! So it isn’t a surprise Michael Bay quickly produced another sequel called The Last Knight, released in 2017, with Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci reprising their characters again. This was supposed to be his last feature in the series. Peter Cullen returns once again to be the voice of Optimus Prime. The success of the franchise eventually led to a movie spinoff called Bumblebee released in 2018. The story took the popular character back to the 1980s, paying homage to the classic Transformers toy designs that were popular in the Eighties. Original fans of the series reacted positively to this more nostalgic version of the series and movie reviewers also gave the film positive reviews.
